At Albavet we offer a visiting cardiology service operating from our hospital in Kirkcaldy and our branch in Dunfermline. Our visiting vet can offer a range of advanced cardiology services and is happy to investigate a range of specific problems in pets.
Our cardiology veterinarian
Dr Chris Parratt BVSc MRes CertVC CertAVP(ECC) MRCVS
Chris originates from Essex, was trained in Bristol and lives in Glasgow. He achieved the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology in 2008 and the RCVS Certificate in Emergency & Critical Care in 2013, and was awarded a Masters of Research Degree in 2010 from the University of Glasgow. He is the one of the few vets recognised by the RCVS as an advanced practitioner in both cardiology and emergency and critical care. Chris is available to provide expert investigation and management of cats and dogs suffering from heart disease, as well as offering advanced levels of care to critically ill patients at the practice when needed. He also has considerable experience with abdominal ultrasonography, and spends a great deal of his time performing this. Chris lives in Glasgow with his wife (a veterinary nurse), three children, dog and parrot.
The cardiology services we offer include
- Echocardiography.
- Electrocardiography.
- ECG interpretation.
- Blood gas analysis including full haematology, biochemistry and electrolytes.
- Thoracic radiography.
As part of our service we provide a range of support materials such as client handouts and information leaflets to help vets and their clients.
