At Albavet Veterinary Surgeons we recognise that there are some situations where clients and pets feel more comfortable receiving treatment in their own home.
We’re happy to provide this service but please acknowledge that outside of the practice we’re potentially limiting our options for diagnosis and treatment. Although we can undertake many common procedures in the home, acute cases are often best seen at the surgery where facilities like oxygen and X-ray mean more prompt and relevant care is delivered straight away.
It also requires the time for a vet and vet nurse to visit which incurs a higher cost than our typical consults, however we believe this is the right service to offer, especially for end of life situations.
If you’d like to consider this option please discuss it with reception and we’ll organise a visit for a time that suits you and the practice. We would appreciate if clients, wherever possible, book home visits in advance to allow us to arrange our diary.
